ABOUT LABRYSSINIA... On June 20th, 2009 in concert with the annual "Proudmoore Gay Pride Parade", this guild was founded by Aquah and her partner ("wife" when it becomes legal for lesbians to marry), Pinq. Labryssinia was created to be a social and informal raiding guild, designed to accommodate LGBT and LGBT friendly gamers. Rainbow rights are symbolized by our guild mascot, the "Sprite Darter Hatchling" (which can be obtained by grinding "Sprite Darters" in Feralas, north of Camp Mojache). Lastly, the name "Labryssinia" was created by combining the words, "labrys" and "Abyssinia". Abyssinia is believed to be the "cradle of life" and first home to human beings on Earth (and is now called "Ethiopia)."  Labyssinia is a "first home" for many women in the gaming world.  As to the labrys, it is a double-headed axe which Minoan priestesses used in religious ceremonies--thus the association with female empowerment, and in modern times, lesbianism and feminism. Labryssinia celebrates this empowerment by hosting and participating in server friendly LGBT events as well as offering a supportive atmosphere for lesbians, straight women and their friends.  So there you have it. Labryssinia!
